coconut groves and fishing communities at the Tip of Borneo

The Kudat region covers the northern section of Sabah where the coastline breaks into bays, headlands and long straight beaches.

Much of the inland area is made up of small farms, coconut plantations and low forest patches. The coastline remains the main focus with clear water, open sand and limited development.

Tip of Borneo remains the best known landmark. This viewpoint looks across two open sea channels and gives a clear sense of being at the furthest reach of the state.

Several beaches lie along the nearby coast, including Pantai Kalampunian, which offers long stretches of sand suitable for walking and swimming in settled weather. Local fishing villages sit close to the shoreline and small seafood places are common along the main road.
