Frequently asked questions

We presently offer travel to five countries in Asia, covering most of the Indian Subcontinent.

We do not presently offer other parts of Asia, although we will inevitably add some further options in the future.

Selecting which country to visit depends very much on your interests.

If you are looking for wildlife safari, the best locations are in India and Sri Lanka, where the primary attractions are tigers, lions, leopards, snow leopards, elephants, rhinos and sloth bears.

If you are interested in active outdoor adventures and magnificent scenery, you might look towards the mountainous parts of India and almost all of Nepal.

If you are interested in culture and history, then you will never run out of places to visit in India, Bhutan and Sri Lanka.

For tropical beaches, there are options in India and Sri Lanka, but the Maldives takes the prize.

On this page, we run through all of the countries that we offer in Asia. Hopefully, the right country for you is on this list.

five diverse countries to choose from

The Indian Subcontinent contains hundreds of locations which offer significant safari and travel options, with each one offering a unique experience.

On this page we list fourteen of the best and most popular areas. If this is your first visit to the Indian Subcontinent, then there’s a very high chance you will include at least one of these in your trip.

Beyond the listed locations, there is a mind-boggling array of interesting lesser-known areas. Once you have chosen your main targets, we can look at combining them with some of these more niche places.

fourteen prime locations for safari and travel

When we talk about Asia, we are only referring to the countries of the Indian Subcontinent, namely, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

These countries are dominated by the Indian Ocean monsoon system.

The May-Sep hot rainy season brings really challenging conditions in almost all areas, other than a few higher altitude parts of the Himalayas in the far north and the remote islands in the far south.

The Oct-Apr cool dry season brings the best travel conditions to virtually all areas, although there are some subtle but very important differences month-to-month in the various locations.

Visitor numbers tend to peak around the Dec-Jan vacation season in India and the islands, whilst Bhutan and Nepal are more busy during the short spring and fall seasons. Those periods demand early booking and the deployment of traffic avoidance measures.
