For decades, building great safari trips has been our everyday obsession. If we weren’t paperless, we’d be able to fill a barn with all the great trips our guests have enjoyed.

But when we sit down together and have that chat about ‘the best ever trips’, we almost always migrate towards the really long ones. The epic adventures.

Four to six weeks might sound like a huge slice of time to find in your busy life, but it’s a really a very small investment when compared with the incredible life-punctuating experience that would deliver.

We do confess to rather over-using the term ‘life-punctuating’, but it really is the best way to describe these longer trips.

In terms of costs, whilst it is true that some of these epic trips have also been amongst the most pricey that we have ever constructed, that doesn’t need to be the case. A longer trip provides the opportunity for lots of lower cost nights and can spend prolonged periods in areas which offer great value.

Because of the epic nature of these trips, they often feel surprisingly good value. It’s the shortest trips which often seem most expensive.
