Travel in the Congo
Congo
is renowned for lowland gorillas
in the Odzala-Kokoua area
fabulous tropical forests of huge biodiversity
Set in the tropical heart of Africa, the Republic of the Congo (not to be confused with the separate country the Democratic Republic of Congo) is a relatively remote and little-visited place.
The country is centred on the capital, Brazzaville, which lies on the north bank of the Congo River, across from the larger city of Kinshasa.
The majority of the Congo is comprised of tropical rainforest, the most interesting part of which is Odzala-Kokoua. Set in the north of the country, this area is home to a wealth of wildlife, including lowland gorillas, chimpanzees and forest elephants.

The vast majority of our guests heading to the Congo, do so in order to visit the lowland gorilla areas of Odzala-Kokoua in the north of the country.
The general plan is to fly in and out of Brazzaville and try to avoid spending too much time there when connecting on charter flights to and from the reserve.
Most people spend 7-10 nights in the safari areas, sometimes crossing the border by air into the Central African Republic, to access the Dzanga-Sangha wildlife area.
