well-placed for orangutan and sun bear visits

The resort occupies a peaceful forested site around 25 kilometres west of Sandakan. It is small, friendly, and family-run, offering an informal atmosphere surrounded by secondary rainforest and tropical gardens.

Facilities include a restaurant overlooking a lily pond, a swimming pool, and raised timber decks among the trees. Electricity and hot water are available throughout, and service is personal and relaxed.

Wildlife is often seen within the grounds, including macaques, flying squirrels, and a variety of birds. The lodge adjoins the protected Kabili–Sepilok Reserve, one of Sabah’s last areas of lowland dipterocarp forest, directly linking to the orangutan and sun bear centres.

Rooms

Guest accommodation is in a selection of chalets and stilted cottages constructed from local hardwood and bamboo. Rooms are simple but comfortable, with polished timber floors, wide windows, and private verandas overlooking the forest or garden.

Each unit has an en suite bathroom with hot shower, air conditioning, and mosquito protection.

The stilted cottages are slightly elevated and more secluded, while the garden rooms are closer to the main lodge and restaurant.
