Simple but comfortable forest lodge beside the Kinabatangan River

Borneo Nature Lodge is located on the middle reaches of the Kinabatangan River in eastern Sabah, Malaysian Borneo.

Set among secondary rainforest and dense riverbank vegetation near Sukau, this small, long-running lodge provides a comfortable and convenient base for exploring one of the most productive wildlife corridors in Borneo. The property is reached only by boat, around two and a half hours from Sandakan, and combines reliable comfort with easy access to excellent wildlife viewing.

The central area is an open-sided wooden structure overlooking the river, containing the dining area, small lounge and bar. Wooden walkways link the rooms through gardens and regenerating forest. Proboscis monkeys, macaques and hornbills are often seen around the camp.

Rooms

Guest accommodation is in twenty-four wooden chalets raised slightly above the forest floor and connected by covered walkways. The rooms are simply but neatly furnished, with proper beds, ceiling fans, air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms with hot showers and flush toilets. Each room has a small verandah with chairs and forest or garden views.
