a charming forest-edge lodge beside the orangutan centre.

comfortable and scenic base for Sepilok wildlife visits

The lodge occupies a peaceful lakeside setting surrounded by mature rainforest, about 25 kilometres west of Sandakan. Paths and wooden bridges link the reception, restaurant, and accommodation areas through lush vegetation and koi ponds, giving the property an established, natural feel.

Facilities include an open-sided restaurant with forest views, a lounge and bar, a small library, and shaded garden seating areas. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, with attentive staff and easy access to Sepilok’s main conservation attractions, all within a few minutes’ walk.

Wildlife such as macaques, squirrels, and a variety of birds can often be seen around the grounds.

Rooms

Guest accommodation is in 23 individual chalets constructed from local hardwood and bamboo. Each unit is raised slightly above ground level and connected by boardwalks. Rooms feature polished timber floors, high ceilings, and private verandas with views of the garden or surrounding forest.

All have en suite bathrooms with hot showers, air conditioning, and mosquito protection. Interiors are simple but comfortable. Deluxe chalets are slightly larger and closer to the central lake, while standard units are positioned within forest gardens for more privacy.
