Chobe Princesses
Chobe Princesses
are small liveaboard boats
on the Chobe River
intimate houseboats focused on slow river exploration
The Chobe Princesses operate on a quiet stretch of the Chobe River where Namibia and Botswana meet, close to Kasane and opposite Chobe National Park.
Part of the Zambezi Queen Collection, these three boats provide a slow, river based alternative to staying in a conventional lodge on the Botswana bank. Two of the vessels each carry just four cabins, while the third has five, so guest numbers remain low.
The boats spend most of their time moving gently between mooring points along the river, often within view of elephant, buffalo and other wildlife on the Botswana shore. The upper deck is the social centre on each boat, with a shaded lounge and bar, dining area, small plunge pool and open deck space for watching the river. Evenings are quiet, with good views of sunset and very little other traffic on the water.
Rooms
Guest accommodation is in simple but comfortable en suite cabins located on the lower deck of each houseboat.
All cabins are air conditioned and have either a king bed or twin beds, with an en suite bathroom that includes a shower, basin and toilet. There is a large sliding window or door that opens directly to the river, giving wide views of the water and the floodplains beyond. Storage space is limited but adequate and there are standard charging points beside the bed.
Cabins are finished in a clean, contemporary style and simple decoration, and are noticeably more comfortable than most river boats in this region.
Activities
The Chobe Princesses provide the following guided activities
- Motorboat safari
- Cultural interaction
- Optional day trips to Victoria Falls arranged from Kasane by prior request
