Safari to Rundu
Rundu
is a riverside town
in the far north of Namibia
the first permanent river north of the Orange
The town of Rundu is set by the Kavango River, in the far north of Namibia, across the water from Angola.
The Kavango is the first permanent watercourse north of the Orange River some 1200 km to the south on the border with South Africa.
The town itself is a functional place with a good range of stores for resupply.
It is a pleasant enough little place, which can serve as a reasonable place to overnight on the long drive up the Caprivi. It may even be worth two nights in a slower paced trip.
