a simple camp in the heart of the action

Elephant Bedroom Camp is set within Samburu National Reserve in northern Kenya.

The camp lies beneath a grove of tall doum palms and acacia trees on the sandy riverbank, where elephant often browse between the tents and a wide variety of birdlife can be seen along the water’s edge. It is a mid-size tented camp offering a comfortable but unfussy base with close access to the reserve’s distinctive Samburu wildlife.

The central mess tent is open-sided under a high canvas roof and houses the lounge, bar and dining areas overlooking the river. A fire-pit area on the riverbank is used for evening drinks, and meals are often served in the open air when weather allows.

Rooms

Guest accommodation is in 14 spacious canvas tents raised slightly above the sandy ground on wooden decks, each with a private veranda facing the river. All tents have en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and outdoor showers, as well as small plunge pools on the verandas.
