Muzimu Lodge
Permanent lodge overlooking a river oxbow
in the Gorongosa National Park

Dry season access to some of Gorongosa’s best wildlife areas
Muzimu Lodge is located in the remote northern region of Gorongosa National Park, set on the banks of the Mussicadzi River in central Mozambique.
The lodge is centred around an open-plan canvas and wood structure. This main area includes an open sided lounge and dining space, all opening onto a spacious deck that overlooks the river. There is also a small plunge pool and a nearby firepit.
One of the things we enjoy most about Muzimu is how much wildlife moves through camp. Elephants and bushbuck are frequently seen near the tents, and vervet monkeys are regular visitors to the trees overhead.
Rooms
Guest accommodation is in six tented rooms, spaced out and connected by raised wooden walkways. Each tent sits on a low wooden platform and features a shaded veranda with views over the bush or river. Inside, the rooms have twin or king-sized beds, mosquito nets, a ceiling fan, and solar lighting. The en-suite bathrooms include flush toilets, a basin, and an open-air bucket shower.
Activities
Muzimu Lodge provides the following guided activities:
- Vehicle safari (day and night)
 - Walking safaris
 - Community and conservation visits
 - Seasonal access to other parts of Gorongosa (subject to conditions)
