great mix of activities in a tranquil setting

Nestled along the stunning Hermanus lagoon in Stanford, Western Cape, Coot Club offers a tranquil retreat surrounded by indigenous fynbos and milkwood forests amidst the backdrop of the Maanschynkop Mountains.

Nearby is Stanford, a little dorpie (small town) with a cool arty scene, weekend markets and excellent restaurants.

Lodge

The heart of the lodge is the historic 1892 Spookhuis, which now functions as the lodge’s Clubhouse. Guests gather here for wood-fired pizzas under the milkwoods, breakfasts on the lawns, or dinners beside the fireplace. The surrounding lawns roll gently down to the lagoon’s edge with two separate swimming pools catering to different age groups and a dedicated children’s den with a pool table and games.

Rooms

The Boathouses are set on stilts along the lagoon’s edge. These stylish spaces have vaulted ceilings, wood-burning fireplaces, and large decks. There are also traditional stone cottages tucked into the fynbos gardens.
