Emboo River Camp is located in the Mara Confluence sector of the Maasai Mara of southwest Kenya.

Set within a grove of fig and ebony trees on a peaceful bend of the Talek River is a large open-sided mess tent positioned beside the river. This contains the lounge, bar and dining area beneath a high canvas roof on decking, creating a light, airy communal space. A fire-pit area overlooks the river for evening drinks, while a shaded riverside deck is often used for private meals. There is also a small pool set a short walk from the mess tent.

Its atmosphere does have a slight slant towards the urban, such as music playing throughout the shared spaces.

The camp’s riverside setting attracts a regular flow of wildlife, with hippos often heard in the water and a variety of birds in the canopy above.

Emboo operates entirely on solar power, with electric vehicles and a natural wetland filtration system.

Guest accommodation at Emboo River Camp is in twelve spacious tented suites positioned under shade along the river, each with an en-suite bathroom including flush toilet and solar-heated shower.
