Travel to Agulhas
Agulhas
is a bland coastal settlement,
the southern tip of Africa
a suburbia of retirement and holiday homes
Agulhas is located in the Whale Coast area of the Western Cape.
Cape Agulhas is the most southerly point on the African continent and is generally considered to be the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian oceans.
The settlements of Agulhas and Struisbaai stretch for 10 km east of the cape lighthouse and consist largely of suburban streets of retirement and holiday homes.
Although visitors are naturally drawn here by its geographical significance, in reality the area is of little cultural or scenic interest. We personally find the experience of visiting the Cape of Good Hope (to the south of Cape Town) much more enjoyable.

We are very rarely asked to include Agulhas in trips, although we do sometimes include the opportunity to pop into this area when self-driving doing the lovely back-road traverse along the Whale Coast between Gansbaai and De Hoop.
