The historic capital of South Africa is a pleasantly small and relaxed city by comparison with the hectic commercial hub of nearby Johannesburg and has a particularly pleasant historic district at its heart.
The main reason our guests come here is in order to access the prestigious Rovos Rail and Blue Train services to Cape Town and elsewhere, which depart from the central station here in town.

Occasionally the timing of these train services necessitate an overnight stop here in the town, in which case the historic Illyria House is usually the best option.
