Travel to Dolphin Coast
Dolphin Coast
is a stretch of suburban beaches
running north from Durban
a popular beach location for South Africans
The Dolphin Coast is located in the KwaZulu Natal region of South Africa.
This section of coast runs for 100 km northeast from the city of Durban and is named after the bottle-nose dolphins that inhabit the area year round.
The southern part of this stretch, closer to the city, is a busy area which gets jam-packed with domestic holidaymakers during the season.
Further north the beaches become rather wilder and are largely backed by commercial sugar plantations, with some moderately interesting small nature reserves in between.

Most international visitors tend to skip this area and look further north to the Elephant Coast for longer beach stays.
We tend to most commonly include the lodges in this area for people wanting an overnight when connecting through of Durban International Airport, for people with business in the city who would rather commute in and out rather than stay in the centre and for people who are especially looking for the type of golfing resorts for which the area is well known.
