Safari to Aysen
Aysen
is a region of wonderful scenery
in the south of Chile

much less harsh than the popular parts of Patagonia
Set in the south of Argentina, Aysen is a relatively little-visited region, which contains gorgeous scenery, dramatic mountain peaks, vast glaciers and stunning lakes.
There’s a wide selection of outdoor activities, including some absolutely superb hiking, but only a very few good lodge options.

The main reason that Aysen is relatively little-visited is because the area is lacking in high quality lodges and the activities are relatively unexplored and undeveloped.
The majority of people who do visit tend to be self-drivers, traversing down through Chile on the Pan-American Highway.
We most commonly include the Aysen area in trips only in passing, when driving from the Los Canones area of Argentina, over the border to the airport at Balmaceda.
