Msambweni is a section of the southern Kenya Coast.
Although situated only around 25 km south of the heavily touristed stretch of the coastline up at Diani Beach, Msambweni is another world, a gorgeous stretch of white sand, backed by dirt tracks through pleasant traditional villages.
A wide range of activities in the area include diving, snorkelling, sailing, kayaking and cultural interaction.

The majority of safari travellers who come to Msambweni choose to base themselves in just one property, with the usual stay duration in the area being 3-6 nights.
The plots along the back of the beach are mostly empty, with a few containing the holiday homes of up-country Kenyans and just one small and upmarket beach lodge.
Msambweni House is probably the best small hotel on the southern coast, a really pleasant owner-run operation with just a handful of superb suites.
