Bwindi Forest
Set in the southwest of Uganda, Bwindi Forest is one of the prime locations in Africa for viewing mountain gorillas. The area contains a handful of good lodges and offers an excellent range of other forest and cultural activities, notably including interaction with the Batwa pygmies.

The lodge is centred on a cosy main building, leading out to a terrace.

Activities are centred on gorilla tracking, plus forest walks, hiking, canoeing and cultural visits to the local Batwa pygmies.
The primary activity is gorilla tracking up into the mountain forests.
The reserve is home to over twenty families of gorillas, totalling over 400 individuals.
Further guided forest walks are also available to search for other flora and fauna.
It is also possible to go canoeing on the beautiful Lake Mutanda.
It is also possible to visit a Batwa tribe and learn about their tradional culture.

Set on the north shore of Lake Victoria, Entebbe is the former colonial capital, the site of Uganda’s international airport and still a relatively relaxed place, with a handful of modest lodges in which to overnight when making flight connections.

The Boma Hotel is located in the Entebbe area.
The hotel contains modest lounge and dining areas, leading out to a swimming pool area.
Guest accommodation is in five simple bedrooms in the main house.
Activities include exploring the local town and visits to the chimpanzee sanctuary at Ngamba Island.
Entebbe itself is a relatively modest place to explore.

Mara Naboisho
Set 200 km west of Nairobi, Mara Naboisho is an excellent private conservancy to the north of the main Maasai Mara reserve, with guest accommodation in a handful of good camps and offering a wide range of high quality safari activities.

Vehicle safari is possible day and night.
The walking safari here is particularly strong.
The wildlife viewing is usually strongest during the Jul-Oct dry season, although there are very good reasons to visit during other months.

Set 200 km west of Nairobi, Mara North is an excellent private conservancy to the northeast of the main Maasai Mara reserve, with guest accommodation in a good range of camps and offering a wide range of safari and cultural activities.
