Arusha
Located in Tanzania North, Arusha is a significant and relatively pleasant town, the start point for safaris into the Serengeti region, with guest accommodation in a good range of largely rural lodges. Overnight stops are frequently needed here in order to make flight connections.

Katavi
Set in the far west of Tanzania, Katavi is an extremely remote safari area. Essentially a seasonal floodplain, the central sweetspot at the heart of the reserve boasts the highest biodensity of any reserve in Africa during the Jun-Oct dry season. Unusual highlights include epic hippo and crocodile action. Guest accommodation is in a handful of good quality camps.

Chada Camp is located in the Katavi area.
The camp is centred a simple mess, leading out to a campfire.
Guest accommodation is in eight large tented Rooms with indoor bathrooms and outdoor showers.
Activities include vehicle safari, modest walking safari and bush meals.
The primary activity is vehicle safari inside the national park during daylight hours.
Walking safari is also offered, but is unlikely to include deliberate approaches onto elephants or lions.
Mahale Mountains
Set in the far west of Tanzania, Mahale Mountains is not only an incredibly scenic location on the distant shores of Lake Tanganyika, but it also happens to be the best location in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. In fact this is almost certainly the ultimate primate experience in Africa, even better than gorilla tracking. Guest accommodation is in just a couple of very remote camps.

Greystoke Mahale
Nomad Greystoke Mahale is located in the Mahale Mountains area.
The camp is centred on a shaggy two-storey main building, leading out to a campfire area.
Guest accommodation is in six Bandas with outdoor bathrooms.
Activities include chimp tracking, forest hiking, sailing and kayaking.
The primary activity is chimpanzee tracking in the forests behind camp.
Motorboat safari is offered out on the lake.
Canoe safari is also possible.
