is a remote and authentic outpost
in the Hwange area
a really unusual extension to a safari
Jozibanini Camp is located in the deep south of the Hwange area in western Zimbabwe.
The camp is an extremely simple affair set around a campfire and overlooking a waterhole.
Guest accommodation is in just five simple tented Rooms.
Please note that we are not missing images in the slideshow, there is no main building, no mess, just a simple campfire with a table and chairs, plus the five sleeping tents.
Activities include vehicle safari, walking safari and mountain bike safari.

The Hwange area is reasonably close to the substantial international airport at Victoria Falls, making it easy and convenient to include it in safaris.
The usual stay duration is 3-7 nights, with longer stays often combining two lodges.
Seasonality
Jozibanini Camp is a seasonal facility which is only usually open during the prime May-Oct dry season, when the wildlife is focused around the waterholes and easy to find.
Within that period, May-Jul is pleasantly cool at night, but the animals may not yet be fully migrated back into water.
Towards the end of that period, Oct-Nov the wildlife should be at its strongest, but the weather is likely to be uncomfortably hot, especially at night. Bear in mind that most camps do not have air-conditioning.
Getting there
Hwange lies quite close to Victoria Falls and the journey between the two is usually done by means of a scheduled light aircraft hop, direct into the various bush airstrips.
It is also possible to transfer by road, a journey of 4-5 hours. It may even be possible to travel down by train.
Jozibanini Camp is usually accessed by road from one of the camps to the eastern side of the reserve, a vehicle safari of 5-6 hours. This trip is usually done as a ‘pump run’, which involves passing by a string of artificial waterholes to check on their operation, make repairs and provide fuel and supplies.
Onward flight connections from Jozibanini Camp are via Somalisa Airstrip, which is a vehicle safari of around 3 hours from camp, with connections to Matusadona, Mana Pools and on to Gonarezhou.
