Safari to Cederberg
Cederberg
is a range of mountains
to the north of Cape Town
a really interesting backwater
The Cederberg Mountains are located in the Western Cape region of South Africa.
This wonderful and wild mountain area is situated some 200 km northeast of Cape Town and offers some interesting dirt road drives, outstanding hiking and mountain biking.
These mountains used to be home to the San Bushman people and their rock-art can be seen in hundreds of locations. There are also some extraordinary rock formations and fascinating flora and fauna.
If you enjoy visiting the back country then try to spend at least three days driving through dramatic valleys, staying at isolated farmsteads and hiking in the hills.

The stand-out accommodation option is Bushmans Kloof, a very high end retreat set in a large private nature reserve and offering elegant hosting and a wide range of activities.
Other options are all considerably lower cost and aimed at self-drivers who are keen to access the various outdoor activities of the region.
