Set out in the Western Desert of Egypt, Dakhla is a cluster of small oases, including Qasr, Mut and Balat.
Parts of these oases are extremely scenic, with palm groves and traditional mud brick architecture, surrounded by stark deserts and dunefields.
The area includes some significant places of interest, including the Deir el-Haggar Temple.
