Bwindi Forest
Set in the southwest of Uganda, Bwindi Forest is one of the prime locations in Africa for viewing mountain gorillas. The area contains a handful of good lodges and offers an excellent range of other forest and cultural activities, notably including interaction with the Batwa pygmies.

Clouds Gorilla Lodge
Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge is located in the Bwindi Forest area.
The lodge is centred on a large main building, leading out to a broad terrace.
Guest accommodation is in just five stone Cottages ...
... plus two larger Family Cottages with two bedrooms, all with butler service.
There is also a small spa facility.
Activities are centred on gorilla tracking, plus forest walks, hiking and cultural visits to the local Batwa pygmies.
The primary activity is gorilla tracking up into the mountain forests.
The reserve is home to twenty families of gorillas, totalling around 400 individuals.
Further guided forest walks are also available to search for other flora and fauna.

Angama Mara is located in the Mara Triangle area.
The lodge is divided into two halves, each centred on a central building.
Guest accommodation is in 15 Tented Suites in each camp, with private butler service.
Activities include vehicle safari, bush picnics, balloon safari, walking safari and cultural visits.
The primary activity is vehicle safari in the Mara Triangle during daylight hours.
Balloon safari is a fantastic but expensive paid extra.
