Set along a usually dry tributary around 12 km northwest of the main river in the South Luangwa South area of eastern Zambia, Gwala Camp was operated by The Bushcamp Company. It unfortunately closed down in 2012, but may re-open at some point in the future.
Kalamu Lagoon Camp
Set on the west bank of the main river in the South Luangwa South area of eastern Zambia, Kalamu Lagoon Camp was operated by Wilderness Safaris. It was unfortunately closed down in 2011 and there are presently no plans for it to re-open.
Palmgrove Bivouac
Set in a gorgeous remote location far to the west of the main river in the South Luangwa North area of eastern Zambia, Palmgrove Bivouac unfortunately closed down at the end of the 2008 season.
Zebra Plains Camp
Set at the confluence with the Chibembe River in the South Luangwa North area of eastern Zambia, Sanctuary Zebra Plains Camp unfortunately closed down in 2013.
